In a recent law.com video podcast, Blackstone Law associate Lara Heckman talks about how her firm's AI tools have made her a faster and more effective lawyer.

The associate was banned from working as a lawyer due to inaccurate and misleading time records, which included one case of her billing for almost 23 hours in one day.        

A variety of lawyers have spoken out on the issue saying that adding small amounts to billed hours is part of Big Law culture and needs to be addressed.

       

"The first rule of any AI has to be that AI has to prevent humans from being harmed," said Jay Edelson, founder of Edelson, who is representing the plaintiffs in the case against OpenAI.

       

The state's high court's brief ruling stated the petitioner lacked jurisdiction.
